QUESTIONNAIRE
(This is a fucking mess and I need to fill it out better...)
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
While Kieran eats like a starving man at an all-you-can-eat buffet, he manages to keep an athletic and trim figure due to being quite physically active. He is very tall with broad shoulders and a thin waist, long legs and long arms with long, slender fingers on each hand. He looks like he's fairly clumsy and oftentimes he is.
2. How old is he?
In his canon he's just twenty years old.
3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
Kieran carries himself with arrogance rather than confidence. More often than not his posture leans in favor of one extreme or the other: slouching over or standing too rigidly. The only time that he is truly relaxed is post-coitus or when he's either drunk or high.
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
For the most part Kieran's bill of health is fairly clean. He smokes a little too much, drinks a little too heavily, and uses drugs occasionally but, given that he's still fairly young, these vices haven't yet had the chance to cause severe side-effects. That is, excepting his depression, which has worsened with his dependence on certain substances. Physically, the only real disability that applies to him is due to an accident he had a few years back that cost him his right leg. While he has since gotten used to his prosthesis, he still has his good days and his bad days.
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
It really depends on his mood, but for the most part Kieran is exactly what you'd expect of a goat in a china shop; not bulldozing so much as jumping on top of everything and sending it all careening to the floor. He has far too much energy all of the time and when he isn't vibrating in one spot, he's all over the place and generally making a mess of things. Which isn't to say he's incapable of graceful movements, only that the times he displays such care are extremely few and far between.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
Kieran is relatively attractive despite sporting a rat's nest for hair and possessing the bad habit of sleeping in his clothes and wearing them (wrinkles and all) the next day and sometimes the day after. He has a very handsome and vibrant smile which makes his blue eyes light up, and his cheer is quite infectious, but deep down he doesn't really think much of his appearance anymore, not after losing his leg. He feels very much like he's just half a person or leftovers.

Kieran's complexion is fairly light-skinned and clear but for the odd blemish here or there when he's been a little too negligent towards his personal hygiene. He sports a wide variety of different scars across his body, however, most of which are centralized upon his back and torso, with several more concentrated on his right leg, some inflicted at the time of his injury, and others inflicted either during fights or by himself.

Kieran's hair is long, messy, and extremely thick. It's not unpleasant to touch when it's clean and brushed out, but it's on the coarser side for a number of split ends. Its shade of black is a little lighter than normal and, due to this, it seems to pick up colors from around it every now and again.

Kieran's eyes are a pale ruddy blue not unlike that of the bill of the ruddy duck. They're one of the only features he has that he's proud of.

Several different tattoos decorate his body: ring tattoos on his fingers acquired during his brief incarceration period, and a "tramp" stamp on his lower back of a tribal-print bat.

Kieran dresses the same regardless of the job he's accepted and is generally of the opinion that if his employers don't like it, they can stuff it. Easy. All of the above. And occasionally thongs. Like, he's not fucking choosy and if it's attention-grabbing, all the better.

A little on the deeper side, and extremely rough around the edges unless he's excited about something, in which case his pitch rises a lot and he's been known to squawk quite loudly.

Quickly, always quickly, and very loudly. Kieran doesn't often hesitate to speak, usually saying the first thing that comes to mind, but he's been known to occasionally stumble over his words when he's feeling particularly anxious about something.

Does talking like he's drunk all the time count? His speech is very unsophisticated and he slurs his words a lot, oftentimes seeming to apply various accents unintentionally. He combines his words frequently and will almost always use "ya" instead of "you".

English. Really shitty English. And that's it.

He slips into incoherent screaming when he's beyond frustrated or angry, but nothing else.

Define "good" here. Because, like, he always speaks on the fly, but he's not really known for saying the right thing the first time around. When he does take the time to think about his words, though, it seems to pay off. Too bad it doesn't happen often.

Always inarticulate and verbally clumsy. He's a loquacious disaster.

Kieran has a younger step-sister named Ally, who, despite not being blood-related, looks startlingly like him in some ways. Their relationship was good. They were close and Ally practically idolized Kieran and he was always very protective of her. However, after running away from home, Kieran has had very little contact with Ally for fear of being a bad influence.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
No, and no.

The family's hired help, Rosa, is someone Kieran was always very fond of for how helpful and sweet she was.

Not "close" per se, but he had a good relationship with Akio, another member of the Jackals.

He thinks he makes friends easily because he calls everyone a friend, but the truth is, it takes a certain kind of person to tolerate his antics and not everyone in Kieran's life has that kind of patience.

Both? Albeit in very different ways. It's complicated.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
Single because nobody wants to date a dumpster fire.

A girl who was a couple years older than him and whose name he can't remember. He called her Cocoa because of the shade of her lipstick. She was also the person he lost his virginity to when he was 13.

Someone consenting and legally old enough, basically. But he's also extremely attracted to reddish hair or eyes, people who won't be gentle with him, and people who tend to be much smarter than him.

No, no, no, and...maybe, one day. Though he doesn't think he'll ever have them or be deserving of having any.

Of course! One of the members of the Jackals named Rook, someone who is bizarrely obsessed with Fionn, is probably the person Kieran butts heads with and dislikes the most back home.

Kieran is entirely pansexual. According to the Kinsey scale with numbers ranging from 0 (exclusively heterosexual) to 6 (exclusively homosexual) Kieran falls directly in the middle at 3.

Give him the sex. All day, every day. Sex him up. Basically, he's as addicted to sex as he is some drugs, maybe even more so. It's all about feeling good and when he's wrapped up in somebody else, he feels he can forget that his life is shit.

Virtually anything is a turn-on. I don't know if it's possible to turn him off? Except with stuff like...animals, kids, extreme mutilation, noncon, or scat. He's open to trying just about anything and everything in the bedroom but not those.

When Kieran doesn't smell of a vaguely offensive blend of cigarettes, sex, and alcohol, he has been known to smell of dewey grass and the outdoors, or a wild array of different fruits, particularly berries, probably because he loves stuffing them into his face so much.

Midnight for his nocturnal tendencies.

Summer is for lovin', baby. The hotter the weather, the fewer clothes people wear. Of course, he's also partial to the fall. So much red everywhere, and Halloween, too!

Do dirty magazines count? It's not that he can't read, it's just that he...doesn't. Holding his attention is difficult, and without picture aids his mind tends to wander very quickly. That said, if the subject matter rates particularly high in terms of shock value, he could be persuaded to do a little reading. Or light skimming at the very least.

The boy loves him some black and thrash metal, but virtually anything that conveys a sense of wild freedom and adventure and boasts an EPIC and larger than life sound (see: most Celtic music) will succeed in capturing his undying affection.

Probably Providence, Rhode Island for where he was born and spent most of his life. It's beautiful but also known for its pointedly high crime rate.
8. Substance?
Latex for all the fucking condoms he goes through! No, I jest. Kind of. Concrete actually represents Kieran very well. It's ugly and often cracked, people write stupid shit in it when it's wet, it makes up thick prison walls like those Kieran did time behind, and he's spent a lot of time sleeping on the stuff, besides. It's hard and cold and gets walked all over and worn down, but exposed too long to the sun and it'll eagerly soak up all the warmth and hold that heat for as long as it can.

When Kieran doesn't smell of a vaguely offensive blend of cigarettes, sex, and alcohol, he has been known to smell of dewey grass and the outdoors, or a wild array of different fruits, particularly berries, probably because he loves stuffing them into his face so much.

Midnight for his nocturnal tendencies.
4. Season?
Summer is for lovin', baby. The hotter the weather, the fewer clothes people wear. Of course, he's also partial to the fall. So much red everywhere, and Halloween, too!
5. Book?
Do dirty magazines count? It's not that he can't read, it's just that he...doesn't. Holding his attention is difficult, and without picture aids his mind tends to wander very quickly. That said, if the subject matter rates particularly high in terms of shock value, he could be persuaded to do a little reading. Or light skimming at the very least.
6. Music?
The boy loves him some black and thrash metal, but virtually anything that conveys a sense of wild freedom and adventure and boasts an EPIC and larger than life sound (see: most Celtic music) will succeed in capturing his undying affection.
7. Place?
Probably Providence, Rhode Island for where he was born and spent most of his life. It's beautiful but also known for its pointedly high crime rate.
8. Substance?
Latex for all the fucking condoms he goes through! No, I jest. Kind of. Concrete actually represents Kieran very well. It's ugly and often cracked, people write stupid shit in it when it's wet, it makes up thick prison walls like those Kieran did time behind, and he's spent a lot of time sleeping on the stuff, besides. It's hard and cold and gets walked all over and worn down, but exposed too long to the sun and it'll eagerly soak up all the warmth and hold that heat for as long as it can.
9. Plant?
Most definitely the Tacca Chantrieri, otherwise known as the Bat Flower.
10. Animal?
Definitely fruit bats. (Are you sensing a theme yet?)
